MATTHEW F. FOWLER, PH.D.

ABOUT

Matthew Fowler is a husband, father, business strategist and educator.  Born in Monmouth County, NJ; raised and living in Sussex County, NJ.  Attended various colleges/universities, majoring in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Marketing, and Accounting.  Currently, Matthew earned his Ph.D. from Capella University.  His research topic "Career Experiences of Forensic Accountants and their Obtainment of Proficiency in Information Technology: Qualitative Exploratory Inquiry."  He has taken his education and applied these concepts to the business environment specializing in professional services; currently, at Ralph Appelbaum Associates, Inc., the largest Exhibition Design firm in the world, as their Chief Financial Officer.  Outside the office, Matthew has a passion for education and has taught for 15+ colleges/universities across the globe.  

Time may not be infinite to one person, but what you do with your time makes life rewarding.  Matthew volunteers for various sports organizations in his local community.  He has been a soccer, basketball, football, and lacrosse coach while taking on various administration roles:  recreation soccer coordinator, Vice President of the soccer board, Treasurer for the football and lacrosse boards, and retired from the President of the recreation lacrosse boys and girls youth program. 

Outside of work and volunteering, Matthew loves the outdoors, from camping, hiking, kayaking, running (finished two half-marathons), cycling, and anything else that requires being with nature.  Recently, Matthew obtained a new passion for Motorcycle riding, adding to a new level of thrill on the open road.  When it is time to go indoors, it is dining at unique restaurants and attending theatre and the symphony.  Travel is a big part of trying new adventures; whether in Central America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia, there is always an adventure waiting to be had and more experiences to come.
